Here are the top 3 reasons why you should advertise in ezines:
1. You can use ezines to build your list
2. You get to tap on customer bases
3. It can be inexpensive yet profitable
Make no mistake, ezine advertising is a great way to build your business! And if you strike a particularly effective ezine, you can build an opt-in list overnight or generate hundreds of dollars or even thousands of dollars in a very short period of time.
If someone ‘forced’ me to reveal my secrets about ezine advertising, this is what I would say:
1. Use An Ezine Directory
The most famous ezine directory on the web is the one created by Charlie Page over at DirectoryOfEzines.com. There is a fee to join but it is worth it. You will get access to a treasure trove of niche ezines to advertise in.
2. Only Buy Solo Ads
The most effective kind of ezine ad is the solo ad. This is a mailing that advertises only your product or offer, and nothing else. If you buy what they call in the industry a ’sponsorship ad’, you will only get a small spot in the email, and this will get you a much lower response. Although the solo ad is more costly, it can be well worth the money.
3. Re-Advertise In Effective Ezines
Once you find profitable ezines that have generated tangible results for you (opt-ins, sales etc), keep on running ads in them until they no longer work. This way, you will ’squeeze’ as much as you can out of it. Keep on following this strategy and you can get tons of traffic over time from ezine advertising.
