High cost of fuel affects Memorial Day business on the Central Coast.

‘Where I come from it”s $5.49 [per gallon],’ said Hogan.
Action News asked Hogan whether the price of fuel had halted his vacation plans.
‘Yeah, yeah. We”re staying home,’ Hogan answered.
J. Erwin Sedley, general manager of the Kon Tiki Inn in Pismo Beach, said, ‘Memorial Day weekend this year from last year was identical for us, no difference.’
But, just down the street at the Sandcastle Inn, Wightman said the economy was on the minds of most guests who were staying there.
Wightman says he has heard his guests talking.
‘Some of them told me that they were just being a little cautious, things that they may have done they weren”t going to do. They were just trying to look for a fairly inexpensive place to go to just relax for the weekend,’ Wightman said.
