Purple Dove Micah”s Place will open its Purple Dove Resale Center on Friday. Gently used furniture, small household items and fine ladies” clothing will be showcased. In addition, items created by survivors of domestic violence will be available on consignment.The store is located in the Eight Flags Shopping Center on 14th Street at Lime Street in Fernandina Beach and will also serve as a place for the community to obtain information on domestic violence services in Nassau County.Revenue from the center will allow expansion of the current shelter, provide for long-term housing needs and offer an outlet for survivor art, crafts and handmade items.Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, volunteer opportunities or to make donations to the resale center, call 491-6364.ADDY award Amelia Island Plantation and webmaster Betty Jimmo have been awarded a 2008 local ADDY by the Creative Spirit of Advertising awards for Jimmo”s development of holiday e-cards.
